This is a very popular
course, and one not to miss if you are serious about changing the way
you handle and train your horse, as it will change the way to look
at your horse forever. It is quite an intensive but very worthwhile
course, it will cover the natural herd behaviour of the horse and how
this effects the way they look at the world, and respond to what you
ask of them. The major importance of body language and how you can
use it to your advantage, and then you really can have conversations
with your horse, once you talk to him in ‘Equus’ and
treat him like a horse. There will be a variety of practical sessions
in the round pen, which will endorse everything you learn. |

INTRODUCTION & CONCEPTS OF NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP
An insight into Natural Horsemanship. Exploring the concepts of using body language and gaining an understanding of equine behaviour, enabling you to tackle the training of a youngster to the most severe of equine behavioural problems.
GROUNDWORK and WORKING LOOSELY
Working your horse loose not only gives you a true impression of your horses natural way of going, but it is wonderful way of creating a real bond with your horse. Ground work is imperative to not only establishing a basis for how your horse behaves on the ground but it underpins their behaviour under saddle.
LONGLINING YOUNGSTERS
Designed specifically for introducing young horses to both saddle and longlines. Establishing the bosics of the ridden horse from the ground, in advance of being started under saddle. Applicable for horses 2years and above.
WORKING WITH THE UNTOUCHED HORSE
This will be a popular course, and focuses on horses that had had little or no handling at all. If you buy a native pony off the moor or forest, this course would be invaluable. Learning the importance of advance and retreat techniques to establish trust.
PROBLEM HORSES!
If you have ever had one, or know of anyone that has, you will know the distress and upset it can cause. From small ground issues such as being difficult with the farrier, barging and being disrespectful are bad enough, but horses that throw themselves over backwards if you try to load them, or those that exhibit dangerous behaviour when being ridden such as rearing or bucking, can not only cause harm to their riders, but often these horses end up being destroyed. This is a very specialist area of horsemanship, but approached in the right way using natural horsemanship techniques, they can be often be overcome.
